She developed a passion for entertainment at a young age and continued to do so throughout her career. Plaza began her career performing improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.
She also performed stand-up and appeared at the Laugh Factory and The Improv. Plaza had her first major role in Safety Not Guaranteed and starred in the online series The Jeannie Tate Show and on ESPN’s Mayne Street as Robin Gibney.
