He is best known as the son of former American professional football player Raymond Anthony Lewis Jr., known professionally as Ray Lewis.
Ray Lewis is a former Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes and Baltimore Ravens. He played for the Ravens for his entire 17-year career.
Like his father, Ray Lewis III developed a passion for football at a young age, but at Lake Mary High School he played on their track and field and football teams.
During his college career, he played for the Miami Hurricanes, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, and Virginia Union Panthers.
Ray Lewis III attended the University of Miami in 2013, where he joined the Miami Hurricanes football team as a running back.
After some time with the Miami football team, he joined Coastal Carolina University in 2015 and then the Virginia Union Panthers.
In 2021, Lewis III signed with the Wyoming Mustangs of the Champions Indoor Football League. Most recently, he was working on his music career.
Sadly, the former college football player has passed away. Ray Lewis III passed away on Thursday June 15, 2023, at the age of 28. The cause of death was not known at the time of writing this article.
Lewis’ younger brother, Rahsaan, posted the news on social media, writing: “I honestly can’t believe I’m writing this but RIP, big bro.”
“A true angel, I pray that you have peace now because I know how much this truly hurt you. I’m at a loss for words and I never will, man, because of this pain here… I love you, I love you, I love you,” he continued. “You have Missed your niece, but she will continue to hear from you. Just take care of us all, big brother, be our protector. I promise I will make you smile and proud.
Lewis III’s last social media post was in December, where he wrote: “GREAT UNCLE RAY RAY!!!! “I’m in it for the long haul!!! New chapter! New beginnings! I love Lil Bruh! Congratulations, sister! Congratulations Lil Bruh!!! #babyshower’
