Bryan Slaton’s Wife: Meet Sharmen: Bryan Slaton, formally known as Bryan Lee Slaton, was born on February 2, 1978, and is a former American pastor and politician.
He attended Ouachita Baptist University and earned a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry and oral communication. He then attended the University of North Texas and earned a degree in accounting.
Slaton then earned a master’s degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He then worked in the ministry as a Minister of Youth and Family for 13 years.
A Republican politician, Slaton represented the 2nd District in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023.
In March 2021, he introduced a bill that would abolish abortion and make it a criminal offense, under which women and doctors who perform or provide abortions could be subject to the death penalty.
The bill made no exceptions for rape or incest; however, it does make exceptions for ectopic pregnancies that endanger the woman’s life.
In June 2022, Slaton said in a social media post that he planned to introduce legislation in the 2023 legislative session to ban minors from attending drag shows in Texas.
A drag show is a form of entertainment performed by drag performers posing as men or women, usually in a bar or nightclub.
Drag shows can range from nightclub-style burlesque shows for adults to all-ages events with singing and storytelling.
In an interview, Slaton said: “Kids don’t need to focus on sex and sexualization, and we just need to let them be kids and allow them to do that as they approach adulthood . »
In March 2023, Slaton introduced HB 3596, the Texas Independence Referendum Act (TEXIT), which would allow for a referendum to consider Texas’ secession from the United States.

His resignation comes after an investigation found he gave alcohol to a 19-year-old assistant and had sex with her in her apartment while she was drunk.
He resigned just two days after a Texas House committee found he violated the law by having an inappropriate relationship with the young woman “who was incapable of giving effective consent” because Slaton was his boss and had broken several rules.
According to the House committee report, Slaton invited the teenage counselor to his apartment on March 31, made her drink rum and Coke until she felt drunk, then had sex with the young woman.
In its report, the committee of three Republicans and two Democrats unanimously recommended that Slaton be expelled from the House of Representatives.

The former priest, Bryan Slaton married his second and current wife, Sharmen, in 2017. It is unclear when the couple met, but they have reportedly been together for many years.
In April 2022, Sharmen filed for divorce, then withdrew it in November 2022. His wife supported him throughout his political career and contributed to his rise in Texas politics.
