As a musician and instrumentalist, Steve Mackey was best known as bassist for the alternative rock band Pulp, which he joined in 1989.

As a record producer, he was known for producing songs and albums by MIA, Florence + the Machine, The Long Blondes and Arcade Fire, among others.

As a member of the alternative rock band Pulp, they released several projects and played a major role in the group’s hits, including Common People, Disco 2000, and Lipgloss.

After an eight-year hiatus from the group, Mackey returned to Pulp in 2010 and together they embarked on world tours in 2011 and 2012, as well as releasing their single “After You”.
