As an actress, she was one of the few performers to achieve the triple crown of acting, winning two Academy Awards, three Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award.

For her West End roles in films, she received five Laurence Olivier Award nominations; “Stevie,” “Rose,” “Strange Interlude,” and “Antony and Cleopatra,” among others.
From 1992 to 2015, she took a break from politics and was elected Labor MP for Hampstead and Highgate in the 1992 general election.
From 1997 to 1999, Jackson served as Transport Minister under Tony Blair’s government.
Following changes in constituency boundaries, she represented Hampstead and Kilburn in 2010. Jackson resigned at the 2015 general election and returned to acting.
Sadly, the Oscar-winning actress and former congresswoman has passed away. Glenda Jackson died at her home in Blackheath on Tuesday June 15, 2023, aged 87.
