His best-known appearance was as Corporal Louis LeBeau in the sitcom Hogan’s Heroes (1965 to 1971). He also appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives.

After the cancellation of Hogan’s Heroes in 1971, Clary maintained close relationships with fellow Hogan’s Heroes cast members Werner Klemperer, John Banner and Leon Askin, whose lives were also affected by the Holocaust.

After the series’ cancellation, he appeared in a number of World War II-themed feature films, including the Holocaust-themed television film Remembrance of Love. Clary has also appeared on Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful, among others.

Clary appeared in the 1975 film The Hindenburg, which depicted a fictional plot to blow up the German airship upon its arrival at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. He plays Joseph Späh, a real passenger on the airship’s final flight.
