Born into a family of athletes, Taylor Fritz developed a passion for tennis from a young age, but did not compete in ITF events until the age of 15, when he competed in a low level tournament in 4th year.
Taylor played his first ATP Tour tournament in Nottingham, where he received a wildcard and won his first ATP match against Pablo Carreño Busta. He turned professional in 2015 after winning the Junior US Open.
Taylor quickly rose from the top 600 to the top 250 in the ATP rankings by becoming the ninth player to win multiple Challenger Tour titles at the age of 17 – in consecutive weeks.
He played three seasons with World Team Tennis, debuting with the San Diego Aviators in 2015, and has since played two additional seasons for the Aviators, in 2018 and 2019.
Taylor joined the Philadelphia Freedoms during the 2020 WTT season at the Greenbrier. The Freedoms entered the WTT playoffs as the number 1 seed, but ultimately lost to the New York Empire in the semifinals. Fritz was named the 2020 WTT Men’s MVP.
Taylor is ranked No. 104 in doubles in the world rankings as of July 26, 2021. He also has a career-high singles ranking of No. 8 in the Association of Tennis Professionals world rankings, achieved on October 10, 2022.
