Drug trafficking allowed him not only to make money, but also to exercise immense authority in the community. The group released “NWA and the Posse” in 1987. It featured productions from Dr. Dre and NWA, Eazy-E, Rappinstine and the Fila Fresh Crew. The album was a huge success in the USA and was certified gold. With their growing popularity, the group decided to venture into more controversial territory with the release of “Straight Outta Compton” in August 1988. Music critics hailed the album as groundbreaking due to its use of profanity and harsh words.
Wright received the nickname “Eazy-E” after his music career took off. In September 1988, he released his first solo album “Eazy-Duz-It”. Several of the songs dealt with Compton’s gangster lifestyle, which resonated with many young people. The album was a huge success in the United States and was certified double platinum.
In 1990, NWA released another successful EP, “100 Miles, and Runnin.” In 1991, “Niggaz4Life” was released. Due to internal conflicts, the group broke up shortly after the album’s release. It peaked at number 70 on the Billboard 200 and number 15 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 1993, he extended his streak with the release of the EP “It’s On (Dr. Dre) 187um Killa”.
