On February 22, 2013, at the age of 18, Davis made his professional debut against Desi Williams, who had a record of 0 wins and 4 losses, all by stoppage.

The contest took place in Washington, DC at the DC Armory as a co-feature with Lamont Peterson vs. Kendall Holt, an IBF junior welterweight bout. Davis was knocked out in the first round of the fight.

Davis was 8-1 in August 2014, with all of his wins coming in a short span of time. In October 2014, Davis completed a six-round test against 28-year-old veteran Germán Meraz (47-31-1, 25 KOs).

Meraz was knocked out in the third and fifth rounds by Davis, who went on to win the fight by unanimous decision (UD) with a score of 60-52 from all three judges.
