The Irishman had a taste of his own medicine twice during his long and legendary fighting career. Only two fighters succeeded. Floyd Mayweather And Dustin Poirier. He remained undefeated in the UFC for a long time until losing via second-round submission to Nate Diaz at UFC 196.


1. Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor


While the undisputed UFC fighter headlined one of the biggest fights in combat sports history to date, he came up short for the first time under the world’s brightest lights . In August 2017, McGregor faced Mayweather to appear in “The Money Fight.” The Irishman’s first ever professional boxing match against one of the greatest boxers of all time.
For someone who has never trained professional boxing, Conor stepped into the lights with a brave heart and did something that had never been done before. This fight became the second highest boxing PPV of all time. The boxing newbie managed to survive ten out of twelve possible rounds against a legend. In the 10th round, Mayweather knocked out Conor and handed him his first defeat by TKO.
2. Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor


Conor suffered the first knockout loss of his MMA career to Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier at UFC 257. In their highly anticipated rematch in January 2021, Poirier turned the tables on his former rivals at second round to avenge his defeat. Conor and Dustin met in 2014 when the Irishman destroyed the Louisiana fighter in less than 2 minutes in the first round.
This was Conor’s third loss in the UFC, having lost to Nate Diaz. Khabib Nurmagomedov. Both losses came via submissions. Dustin is a commendable finisher and picked up a nice win heading into UFC 257. The first round was all Dustin’s, but Conor shook him up a bit. But in the second round, Poirier handed “The Notorious One” his first knockout defeat of his MMA career. The former two-division champion couldn’t settle for this defeat and now the two will face off again in a trilogy fight. McGregor vs. Poirier 3 is suspended UFC 264 July 11.
