After their defeat in Super Bowl LVI, the Cincinnati Bengals have worked hard in free agency to improve their team to ensure they get back to the big game and win it this time. This also includes a somewhat controversial re-signing of cornerback Eli Apple.
In 2021, Eli Apple played his first season in Cincinnati, where he started 15 games, played 979 defensive snaps and made two interceptions. He also had 47 receptions for 602 yards and 3 touchdowns and replaced Cooper Kupp for the Super Bowl winning touchdown.

It was during the playoffs that Eli Apple decided to do it after the Bengals beat the Titans. hate to fans of the Saints and Giants (two teams he played for) for no apparent reason. This sparked a lot of backlash from fans across the league who support Apple for his level of play. After the tweet, everything he did wrong was ridiculed online, and after the Super Bowl, it was truly a nightmare for him.
Despite his level of play which is sometimes a little fragile, the Bengals have decided to bring him back for 2022.

Cincinnati Bengals re-sign Eli Apple

Eli Apple recently agreed to a one-year deal to stay in Cincinnati and will look to play at a high level in 2022. Sure, he did that for most of 2021, but that gets forgotten due to the amount of trash talk he throws at fans on Twitter.
That, along with missing the Super Bowl-winning touchdown, means it hasn’t been a smooth offseason for him and Twitter isn’t backing down anytime soon. Here are some of the best reactions to the news.
