Mounts in Minecraft are some of the most useful animals in the game and there are several of them. Here’s how to create a warped mushroom on a stick in Minecraft to control one of the game’s most unusual mounts, the Strider.
Minecraft Mushroom only included mushrooms from around the world, but the Nether update added many more. The two notable biomes added to the Nether Dimensions are the Crimson Forest biome and the Warped Forest biome. These biomes have rich vegetation and two new mushrooms have been introduced here. These are the Warped Mushroom and the Crimson Mushroom, both of which look like mushrooms.

Deformed mushroom on a stick
This item has only one purpose in the game, that of controlling the wandering mount in the Nether dimension.

It’s similar to this Carrot on a stick Item used to make the Pig’s mount faster. However, the crowd of Striders cannot be controlled without the use of this warped mushroom on a stick.
Players must craft this item to obtain it. However, on very rare occasions, when a zombified pig appears as a racer-jockey, it has a twisted mushroom on a stick in its hand instead of a golden sword. The chances of dropping it are extremely low and therefore not a reliable source to obtain it.
Used
The Strider mob can be found on lava beds in the Netherrealm and can be saddled by players to ride it. However, in Minecraft, players need a warped mushroom on a stick to crowd control Strider.
When riding the Strider, players must hold the stick in their primary or secondary hand and simply point the Strider in the right direction. If you hold down the right mouse button, the Strider’s speed will also increase.
This mob is particularly useful because it can walk on lava.
How to make a deformed mushroom on a stick in Minecraft?
Players must first collect the following items:
- Fishing rod x1
- Deformed Mushroom x1
Players can find the Warped Mushroom in the Netherrealm Warped Forest biome. Arrange the items on the crafting table as shown above to craft a Warped Mushroom on a Stick.
