He married Caroline Ratzenberger for the first time, but the couple divorced in 1983. After his divorce, he married Georgia Stiny for the second time in a secret wedding. They were married for over 19 years before divorcing in 2004.

Ratzenberger enjoys his wife’s habit of collecting shellfish for dinner on their beachfront property in Connecticut.
When asked if he and his wife were happy, he replied: “Oh yes! “A busload of people can come to the house at any time and we will have plenty of food” (according to Closer Weekly.)

“We all need a family, not only for ourselves but also for our children, and a functioning home. Plus, it’s not fun to travel alone,” Ratzenberger said.
Despite his divorce from his ex-wives, John still has a soft spot for his children. He hopes his grandchildren will graduate from high school.
