Colombian musician Karol G. Carolina Giraldo Navarro was born on February 14, 1991 in Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia.

She is the daughter of musician Guillermo Giraldo and Marta Navarro. She has the same parents as her older sisters; Véronique and Jessica.

At the age of 14, she joined El Factor under the stage name “Karol G.” Soon after, she shared the stage with J Balvin at a quinceanera.
