Santiago Tomás Giménez, born 18 April 2001, is an Argentine-Mexican professional footballer who plays as a striker for Eredivisie club Feyenoord.
On 2 August 2017, he made his professional debut alongside Cruz Azul in a 1–1 draw against Tigres UANL in the Copa MX group stage. Two years later, on August 28, 2019, he made his debut in Liga MX against Tijuana, but lost 3-2. On 2 February 2020, he scored his first goal for the club in a league match against Toluca in a 3–3 draw, scoring in the first two minutes of the match.
In August 2021, he scored goals in four league matches and was voted player of the month. On July 29, 2022, Santiago Gimenez joined Feyenoord on a four-year contract. With a 1–0 victory, he secured Feyenoord’s group victory and qualified directly for the round of 16. Feyenoord won the 2022/23 Eredivisie while Santiago Giménez won the league title with a second goal in a 3-0 win over the Go Ahead Eagles with 15 goals in 30 games.
Although Santiago Giménez had the opportunity to represent Argentina, his country of birth, he chose to represent Mexico, stating: “I feel more Mexican than Argentinian”, having lived most of the time in Mexico since his father’s move. He was called up by the Mexican U-15, U-18, U-20 and U-23 teams. He made three appearances with Mexico’s U16s at the 2016 International Dream Cup.
