Mike LaFleur’s Wife: Meet Lauren L. Ball – Mike LaFleur is an American football coach who served as the offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL).

Mike LaFleur was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. He attended Central Michigan University, where he played wide receiver for the Chippewas from 2001 to 2004. After graduating, he began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater.

In 2008, LaFleur joined the Saginaw Valley State University staff as the wide receivers coach. He spent two seasons there before joining Northern Michigan University, where he served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for two seasons.

In 2012, LaFleur joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers staff as an offensive assistant, working primarily with the wide receivers. He spent two seasons in Tampa before joining the Cleveland Browns as wide receivers coach in 2014.

In 2016, LaFleur was hired by the Atlanta Falcons as wide receivers coach, where he worked under head coach Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. During his time in Atlanta, LaFleur helped turn wide receiver Julio Jones into one of the best in the NFL and the team reached the Super Bowl.

In 2017, LaFleur followed Shanahan to the San Francisco 49ers, where he was named wide receivers coach. In 2020, he was promoted to offensive coordinator, succeeding Shanahan, who left the team to become head coach of the 49ers.

As offensive coordinator, LaFleur continued to use the same system that Shanahan made famous in Atlanta and San Francisco, emphasizing a strong running game and a strong passing game. Under his leadership, the 49ers offense was one of the most productive in the league.

LaFleur is known for his ability to develop young players and get the most out of his abilities as a position player. He is also considered a good game planner, able to adapt his game plan on the fly to exploit opponent weaknesses.

Mike and Lauren LaFleur met at Mount Pleasant High School. LaFleur got married on July 17, 2010 in an outdoor wedding ceremony.

Likewise, Mike and Lauren both attended Elmhurst University and were involved in athletics. Lauren was a member of the women’s volleyball team at the time and Mike was quarterback for the Bluejays in 2006 and 2007.

Mike began his coaching career as an offensive assistant for the Elmhurst Bluejays shortly after graduating from Elmhurst in 2009.
