Minecraft mobs exist all over the world and one of the smallest is the Minecraft Rabbit. Players can mainly find these cute animals in open fields and deserts.
Rabbits are one of the most unusual monsters a player can encounter while traveling through the world of Minecraft. These small creatures only appear in small groups and are quite difficult to find due to their vulnerability to other common creatures.
Below we take a look at the Minecraft Rabbit and all of its features.
Minecraft Bunny
The Minecraft Rabbit is an unusual passive mob that has many variations and some useful drops needed for certain crafting recipes.

Locations
Rabbits are small monsters that appear on blocks of grass, snow and sand. The desert is home to the Creamy Bunnies and all the desert bunnies are the same color.
Rabbits found in other biomes such as flower forests, taigas, snowy tundras, and mountain groves have different colors. Rabbits can spawn with adults and small rabbits. There are significantly fewer rabbits in Taiga biomes, as wolves and foxes kill them as soon as they see them.
Behave and breeding
Rabbits are passive creatures that jump around the biome. Players can kill them with any tool or hand, and hitting them will make them run away.
However, they slowly approach a player holding a carrot, golden carrots, and dandelions. They also avoid hostile mobs, wolves, foxes and cats that kill them.
Players can raise a rabbit with a carrot, a golden carrot or dandelion. The baby rabbit has the same fur color as all of its parents, but has a 5% chance of having fur that matches the biome in which it was born.
Rabbit Variations
The Rabbit has several variations that players can either spawn or find in the world. Depending on the skin, they vary in:
- Brown fell
- White fur with red eyes – snowy biomes
- Black fur with gray spots – snowy biomes
- Black and white spotted fur
- Gold/Cream colored fur – found in desert biomes
- Salt and pepper fur
The Killer Rabbit
This is a variation of the rabbit that can only be generated using commands./ Summon a Rabbit ~ ~ ~ {RabbitType:99}“. This is a direct reference to the popular film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and is hostile towards the player and even towards wolves and foxes.
The rabbit is characterized by its pure white fur and bloodshot eyes, arranged horizontally instead of the normal vertical eyes.
They have 8 armor points and deal 8 health damage to players and monsters that attack them. They are also significantly faster than other rabbits.
grill
This rabbit variant can only be obtained by naming a rabbit “Toast” using a badge. This changes the color of the fur to black and white.
This is an Easter egg that was implemented into the game at the request of a fan in memory of their missing rabbit named Toast. This serves as a sad memorial to a beloved in-game pet.
drops
When Minecraft Rabbit is killed, he drops one of the following:
- 0-1 rabbit fur
- 0-1 raw rabbit
- 10% chance of getting a rabbit’s foot
- 1 to 3 EXP orbs
