Fish in Minecraft are the main variant of mobs in the ocean. A wide variety of fish swim in the waters and players can catch them for many different purposes. Some monsters such as Axolotls, Guardians, and Elder Guardians, which are also water monsters, do not fall into this category.

Minecraft Tropical Fish


They are often passive creatures found in marine biomes and are characterized by their markings and uniqueness.

There are nearly 2,700 natural varieties of tropical fish with different colors, patterns and markings.
Spawn
They appear there warm marine biomes or warm marine biomes in groups of 8 to 24 fish. These can have predefined patterns or appear with random patterns.
Behave


Minecraft Tropical Fish are passive mobs and do not attack players or other mobs. When attacked, they simply try to swim away.
Players can also collect them using a Bucket to craft a Tropical Fish Bucket. This bucket can also be tipped into water sources to turn it into an aquarium!
They cannot survive out of water and eventually suffocate. Tropical Fish are also weak to the Impalement enchantment.
vTypes of fish


In the Java edition, 90% of created fish appear naturally in 22 of the predefined varieties. The remaining 10% are generated completely randomly and have different markings, patterns and colors.
In the Bedrock Edition, there are no common species for tropical fish, but rather 22 predefined and random spawning locations. When you put them in a bucket, the name of the bucket becomes the name of the fish in it.

If the player kills Minecraft Tropical Fish, there is a chance to get:
- 1 tropical fish
- 1 bone meal
- 1-2 bones
- 1 to 3 EXP orbs
