Turtle shells have a variety of uses, but defense isn’t one of them! Players can wear them in helmet slots in their inventory. The helmet only offers a measly 2 points of armor. While this is comparable to Iron Helms, its other uses overshadow its armor!

Players only need one item to craft a turtle shell, but it’s not easy to obtain. This is the scale that is not dropped by a baby turtle until it has become an adult turtle. It’s rare and players can build a turtle farm to get lots of them!
