Pat Monahan was born on February 28, 1969, to Jack Monahan, a businessman and musician, and Patricia Ann Monahan in Erie, Pennsylvania, United States, one of the couple’s seven children.
He completed his high school education at McDowell High School and graduated from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania.
Regarding his career, Pat first joined the cover band Rogues Gallery for two years, from 1988 to 1990.
He left his hometown for California, where he formed the rock band Train with Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford, Charlie Colin and Scott Underwood. The group’s four studio albums, released from 1994 to 2006, earned them two Grammy Awards for the hit Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me), written by Pat Monahan.
