A fire gave rise to a dispute
Macaulay Culkin’s mother, Patricia Brentrup, was the subject of an $80 million lawsuit in 1999. She was accused of a fire in her family’s apartment. According to firefighters, the fire was started by sparks coming from Patricia’s radiator. Additionally, it was discovered that she had fled after leaving her apartment door open after the alarm went off. The fire flooded the stairways and corridors of the 51-story building with smoke, killing four people.
