Reba McEntire, an American country child singer and actress, Reba Nell McEntire was born on March 28, 1955, in McAlester, Oklahoma in the United States of America.
Young Reba then began performing on stage at school, starting in first grade when she sang “Away in a Manger” at a primary school Christmas pageant.
In fifth grade, she joined the 4-H club and her performance in “My Sweet Little Alice Blue Gown” earned her first place in the Junior Act category.
She was also involved in track and field and basketball. She attended basketball camp for several summers. She also studied guitar and piano. She also became interested in rodeo and began training to compete in barrel racing.
The McEntire siblings performed frequently in high school. They joined forces and formed the group The Singing McEntires.
The Ballad of John McEntire, a song about their famous grandfather, was released by the group in 1971. It was released locally in limited quantities and was released as a single by a local label.
The group later added a backing band with whom they performed at neighborhood events. The ensemble was later called the “Kiowa High School Cowboy Band.” Additionally, they had to pay for engagements at local taverns and dance clubs in Oklahoma City.
After Reba’s brother graduated from high school, the group broke up. McEntire graduated from high school in Kiowa in 1973.
McEntire attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University after graduating from high school. In addition to her primary education, she studied music as a minor subject. After completing her teaching career, she received her bachelor’s degree.

McEntire, one of four children, was born and raised in Oklahoma. She and her siblings formed the Singing McEntires with the support of their mother, who helped them perform at community events and record music for a small label.
McEntire then enrolled at Southeastern Oklahoma State University to prepare to become a teacher.
She continued to perform occasionally, and country singer Red Steagall heard her sing at a rodeo event.
Steagall was attracted to McEntire’s singing voice and helped land her a recording contract with PolyGram/Mercury Records in 1975. That same year, she and her mother moved to Nashville, Tennessee.
McEntire’s albums and singles were released by PolyGram/Mercury over the next few years, but met with only moderate success.
McEntire’s music gained popularity in the early 1980s with a string of ten major country hits such as “(You Lift Me) Up to Heaven”, “I’m Not That Lonely Yet” and his first number one ” Can”. I don’t even have the blues.
However, McEntire became increasingly dissatisfied with her career path and joined MCA Records in 1984. Her breakthrough album My Kind of Country from her second label MCA was released in 1984.
It spawned two number one country hits on the Billboard charts and suggested a more conventional musical direction.
McEntire had ten other number one country singles in the 1980s, as well as seven other studio albums. She has three number one singles: “One Promise Too Late”, “The Last One to Know” and “Whoever’s in New England”, which won a Grammy.
Eight members of McEntire’s band died in a plane crash in San Diego, California in 1991. McEntire’s critically acclaimed album For My Broken Heart, which is currently his best-selling album, was inspired by the incident.
She followed with a series of critically acclaimed albums that also achieved commercial success in the 1990s, such as Read My Mind (1994), What If It’s You (1996), and If You See Him (1998).
These albums included the number one country songs “How Was I to Know”, “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter” and the Brooks and Dunn duet “If You See Him/If You See Her”.
In January 1990, McEntire made her film debut in Tremors, which marked the start of her acting career. She played Annie Oakley in the 2001 Broadway production of Annie Get Your Gun.
The WB released the television sitcom Reba that same year, in which McEntire played a fictionalized version of herself.
