American politician Adam Daniel Kinzinger was born on February 27, 1978, in Kankakee, Illinois, United States of America. He was born to faith-based organization CEO Rus Kinzinger and his mother Betty Jo, who was an elementary school teacher.

Early life

Adam Kinzinge spent most of his youth in Jacksonville, Illinois, United States. He then grew up in Bloomington, Illinois. He graduated from Normal Community West High School in 1996 and from Illinois State University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. While still a student at Illinois State, Kinzinger ran for office as a member of the McLean County Board of Supervisors in 1998. At age 20, Kinzinger was one of the most young members of the McLean County Board of Supervisors when he won election against an incumbent. He served on the board of directors until his resignation in 2003. Kinzinger interned with former U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald, attended a program at Illinois State and graduated shortly after time later.

Political career, positions and military service

Kinzinger left the McLean County Council in 2003 to join the American Air Force. In November 2003, he was appointed second lieutenant and received his squadrons of pilots. As a KC-135 Stratotanker pilot, Kinzinger made his first flights in South America, Guam, Iraq and Afghanistan. He later flew the RC-26 surveillance aircraft and served twice in Iraq. Kinzinger served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command and Air Mobility Command before being gradually promoted to his current rank of lieutenant colonel. To maintain border security, Kinzinger was deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border in February 2019 in his current role with the Air National Guard.

Kinzinger supports legalizing concealed carry of weapons across state lines in states where it is permitted. Kinzinger was one of eight Republican lawmakers who voted in favor of the bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021 on March 11, 2021. Following the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting that left 22 people dead, Kinzinger said on May 29, 2022, that he was “open to” an assault weapons ban. Kinzinger voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act in 2017. (Obamacare). Kinzinger opposes the Dodd-Frank Act. The United States gave Kinzinger a 94% lifetime rating. a 49% lifetime rating from the Club for Growth, a conservative organization that advocates tax cuts, reduced spending, deregulation and free trade. The Chamber of Commerce, a commercial organization. Kinzinger was the only minority member to vote for the America COMPETES Act of 2022, even though many House Republicans had previously supported some of its provisions. Kinzinger opposes late-term abortions and the use of federal or health insurance funds to support abortions. Three Republicans, including Kinzinger, voted for the HR Act of 2022, PL 8297, “Ensuring Access to Abortion.” Kinzinger supported the HR, Right to Contraception Act, or PL 8373. This law was created to protect women’s access to contraception and the ability of health care professionals to disseminate contraceptives and information about contraception. The bill also includes funding for Planned Parenthood.

According to NORML, Kinzinger receives a “C” grade for his voting on cannabis issues. He advocated for veterans’ access to medical marijuana if it is recommended by their VA doctor and if it is legal in their home state. He rejected a proposal to remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act’s list of banned drugs.

In 2011, Kinzinger and fellow pilot, Air Force Capt. Riki Meyers, became engaged; They then called it quits in 2012. In June 2019, Kinzinger got engaged to Sofia Boza-Holman, a former aide to John Boehner and aide to Vice President Mike Pence. In 2020, on February 16, they got married. Christian Adam Kinzinger, their son, was born in January 2022.
