In 2002, the song “Obsesión” was number one in Italy for 16 consecutive weeks. He released several albums with Aventura before the group disbanded.
Since then, Romeo Santos has embarked on a solo career that has produced seven number one songs on the Hot Latin Songs chart and seventeen number one songs on the Tropical Airplay chart. During his career, he has sold over 40 million albums and over 100 million singles.
Romeo Santos was born in the Bronx, New York to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother and grew up in a humble environment. His father, who worked in the construction industry, was poorly paid but earned enough to support his family.
