Chris Candido is a wrestling star who despite its small size, has managed to make a name for himself in the industry. Standing at 5 feet 8 inches and swing 225 poundsCandido even managed to make a name for himself when wrestling promoters looked for tall, imposing characters for their lists.
Unfortunately, he became involved with drugs during his time in the World Wrestling Federation, which derailed his career for a while. Meanwhile, Candido moved on to other promotions and I quickly came out clean and sober.
After getting his life back together, he signed with TNA. His career was going well until TNA’s first Six Sides of Steel PPV titled “Lockdown”. April 24ThIn 2005, Candido teamed with Lance Hoyt to take on Apolo and Sonny Siaki.
During a push, Candido’s foot got caught under Siaki and broke. He suffered a dislocated ankle and a fractured fibula and tibia. The next day, Candido had surgery and steel plates were inserted into his ankle.
Candido was to be out for three months. But three days later, he returned to the TNA tapings and insisted on being on the show. He appeared in a cast and crutches and even interfered in a Naturals match, helping them win the tag team titles.
The next evening, at dinner, Candido complained of not feeling well and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There has been widespread speculation that medications were involved in his death and that complications from ankle surgery also played a role. Chris Candido died at the age of 33.

Chris Candido began his wrestling career at the age of 14. A relatively small man in an industry dominated by large wrestlers, Candido has wrestled all over the world, including Japan and Puerto Rico. During his career, he wrestled for several promotions such as Jim Cornette’s Smoky Mountain, WWF, ECW, WCW, NWA and TNA.
After coming out clean and sober, he received offers from WWE and TNA. Candido therefore decides to sign with TNA. His career received a huge boost in TNA, where he faced top players like AJ Styles and others. Although his death was a truly sad day in the wrestling world, Chris Candido died doing what he loved most.
