Iga Swiatek is the youngest player in the WTA top 10 and also the third youngest active player to reach the top spot. The young girl won five individual titles during her short career of just over two years. She then beat American Sofia Kenin in straight sets at the 2020 French Open to win her first Grand Slam. The following year, she reached the quarterfinals of the French Open singles, where she lost to Maria Sakkari.
She has been the most consistent player on the WTA Tour in 2021, reaching the second week of every Grand Slam. She also won two consecutive WTA 1000 titles in 2022 and inherited the top spot from Ash Barty after his retirement.
Iga Swiatek: Parents and family


Iga Swiatek was born on May 31, 2001 in the Polish city of Warsaw to Tomasz and Dorota Swiatek. His father, Tomasz was an Olympic rower who represented Poland in the men’s double sculls at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
However, her mother took her career towards medicine in a completely different way. She works as an orthodontist. Iga also has an older sister, Agata. Her sister started out as a swimmer, then moved to tennis.
Iga also mentioned that she bought a tennis racket with the sole purpose of beating her sister one day.
The 20-year-old has already made her country proud by winning the first Grand Slam for a Polish player. She has been playing tennis regularly for some time. The Pole had expressed her desire to win all four Grand Slam tournaments and a gold medal at the Olympic Games. With already a Grand Slam title to her credit, the young woman already seems to be on the right track.
