Jessica Pegula is an American tennis player who has won one WTA title and six ITF titles. Pegula has reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam tournament five times. Three times in Australian Openonce on French Openand once on US Open.
The American was plagued by injuries early in her career and only started playing tennis on a regular basis in 2019. Pegula had a breakthrough 2021 season when she managed to reach the quarter-finals of the Australian Open by defeating former Grand Slam champions Victoria Azarenka, Sam Stosur and the fifth seed, en route to her first quarter-final. She also managed to break into the top 20 of the WTA rankings and finished the year in 18th place.
