Casper Ruud is a Norwegian tennis player. He won his first ATP championship there in February 2020. Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. He was the first Norwegian player to win an ATP title. Casper started playing tennis with his father around the age of four, and when he was younger, he considered Rafael Nadal one of his tennis idols. He enjoyed a successful junior career and was the first Norwegian to be ranked number one young players in the world.
Ruud made his debut on the ATP Tour in 2016 and gradually climbed the rankings before winning his first ATP title at the Argentine Open in Buenos Aires in February 2020. Ruud also qualified for this ATP Next Gen Finals 2019 before this breakthrough.
Further success followed for the talented Norwegian, and he had a breakthrough year in 2021, winning five titles and significantly improving his ranking. In 2022, Ruud made history at the French Open, adding another layer to his success by becoming the first Norwegian player to qualify for a Grand Slam final.

Ruud was born on December 22, 1998 in Oslo, Norway. Christian Ruud, a former ATP professional, is Casper’s father. Christian Ruud began his professional career in 1991 and retired in 2001, with a career ranking of 39th, the highest of any Norwegian player until Casper broke the record in February 2020.
Unsurprisingly, Casper Ruud didn’t have to look far for a coach since his father Christian is also his coach. He has two sisters, Caroline and Charlotteand his mother’s name is Lele Ruud. Little is known about Lele as she chose to have a private life regardless of her status. What we do know, however, is that she continually supported her son throughout his journey.
