How did Smosh start and what happened?
Anthony created smosh.com in 2002, which featured a number of evil Flash animations and became one of YouTube’s most iconic online creations. Their first videos were incredible! Imagine Anthony and Ian performing the theme songs from Mortal Kombat, Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles while lip-syncing like absolute masters.
In 2023, however, they decided they wanted to become real investors in the company and joined forces to reclaim the YouTube comedy empire they had created 18 years earlier. Mythical Entertainment, the production company of YouTube chat show legends Rhett & Link, acquired Smosh in 2019. According to Variety, the crime and comedy business partners just acquired a substantial portion of Smosh.

Anthony and Ian had not been seen in public or in many videos since Anthony left Smosh in 2017. In June 2023, when Anthony announced their collaboration on Instagram, admirers were delighted.
