Gregory John Gutfeld, wife of American television personality and libertarian political commentator Greg Gutfeld, was born on September 12, 1964, in San Mateo, California.

He was raised Catholic and attended the all-boys Junpero Serra Catholic High School and the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his bachelor’s degree in English in 1987.

Gutfeld claimed in a 2009 interview that he began to rethink his political views while he was a student.

The political talk show The Five has five co-hosts and panelists, including Gutfeld. The Fox News channel broadcasts its two programs. From 2007 to 2015, Gutfeld was the host of the late-night 3 a.m. talk show Red Eye, which also aired on Fox News Channel.

Career of Greg Gutfeld

After graduating from college, Gutfeld worked as an assistant to R. Emmett Tyrrell at The American Spectator.

He later held positions as editor for several Rodale Press journals as well as editor for Prevention magazine.

He joined Men’s Health as editor-in-chief in 1995. In 1999, he received a promotion to editor-in-chief of Men’s Health. He was replaced by David Zinczenko a year later.

Next, Gutfeld was named editor-in-chief of Stuff, which was then a Dennis Publishing publication. Circulation increased from 750,000 copies to 1.2 million under his leadership.

In 2003, Gutfeld paid several dwarves to attend a Magazine Publishers of America meeting on the topic of “buzz,” with instructions to be as obnoxious and loud as possible.

Gutfeld was fired from Dennis Publishing shortly after the publicity prank, and he later took on the role of head of “brain development” there.

From 2004 to 2006 he was editor-in-chief of Maxim magazine in the United Kingdom. After readership declined while he was editor, Gutfeld’s contract was not renewed.

From the founding of The Huffington Post in 2005 until October 2008, Gutfeld was an early poster contributor. He frequently named Deepak Chopra, Cenk Uygur and Arianna Huffington as targets in his comments.

On Fox News Channel, Gutfeld hosted the late-night talk program Red Eye beginning February 5, 2007. The one-hour program debuted at 2:00 a.m. ET, Monday through Saturday, and 11:00 p.m. ET , SATURDAY.

However, the program began broadcasting at 3:00 a.m. Monday to Saturday mornings from October 2007, retaining its 11:00 p.m. timeslot on Saturday evenings.

Bill Schulz was Gutfeld’s sidekick from 2007 to 2013, and Andy Levy handled complaints about the program. Both Levy and Schulz worked for Stuff magazine as bloggers, and Schulz had previously worked there with Gutfeld.

On July 11, 2011, Gutfeld joined the panel and co-hosted The Five on Fox News, a weekday political talk show at 5 p.m. ET.

Red Eye was hosted by Tom Shillue after Gutfeld left the series in February 2015. The Greg Gutfeld Show, a new weekly late-night talk show on Fox News, premiered on May 31, 2015 at 10 p.m. ET on SATURDAY.

The move to weekly nights at 11 p.m. ET, which would take effect in the second quarter of 2021, was announced in February of that year.

On March 10, 2021, it was revealed that Gutfeld!, a new evening program, will debut on April 5. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been overtaken by Gutfeld! in late-night ratings in August 2021, making it the most popular late-night talk program in the country.

More viewers tuned in each night than The Late Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live, averaging 2.12 million!

By the end of 2021, The Five and Gutfeld! had more than five million viewers each on average. On The Adam Carolla Show and Coffee with Scott Adams, Gutfeld made guest appearances.

At the end of 2021, the Mediaite site ranked Gutfeld 12th among the most important figures in American media.
