Mason Crosby’s wife and American football player, Mason Walker Crosby, was born on September 3, 1984, in Lubbock, Texas.

Crosby attended Georgetown High School, where he also played football. He also attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he was a member of the Colorado Buffaloes football team from 2003 to 2006.

As a student at Colorado, he displayed exceptional leg strength when he rushed for a school record 60 yards against Iowa State in 2004.

Crosby was the last of three consecutive picks by the Green Bay Packers and the third overall kicker when he was selected in the sixth round (193rd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

Crosby made the longest field goal in Heinz Field history when he hit a 52-yarder against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Green Bay’s first preseason game. During the last roster cut, Crosby was given the starting position.

Crosby made 27 of 34 field goal attempts and all 46 extra point attempts during the Packers’ 6–10 season in 2008. He scored the most extra points in the league.

In 2009, when the Packers finished 11-5, Crosby made 27 of 36 field goal attempts and 48 of 49 extra point attempts.

In the final seconds of the first half of the team’s regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, Crosby made a 56-yard field goal – the longest of his career at the time and a franchise record.

Crosby and the Packers agreed to a four-year contract extension on March 1, 2016. Crosby made 26 of 30 field goal attempts and 44 of 47 extra point attempts during the 2016 season.

With the Packers, Crosby finished the 2017 season with a 78.9% completion rate, the lowest mark of his career (since 2012). The second-lowest extra point rate of Crosby’s career was 94.3%, which he achieved.

Crosby beat the Detroit Lions in Week 6 by making three field goals, including the go-ahead one. To celebrate, he did a Lambeau jump.

Crosby extended his contract with the Packers to a three-year, $12.9 million contract on February 24, 2020. The Packers added Crosby to the reserve/COVID-19 list on July 30.

The Green Bay Packers amended the terms of Crosby’s contract on March 23, 2021, converting part of his base salary into a salary bonus and his $1.25 million roster bonus into a signing bonus. As part of this restructuring, his contract was extended for three empty years.

In overtime games against the New England Patriots in Week 4 and the Dallas Cowboys in Week 10, Crosby scored game-winning goals.
