Stoll is a native of Irondequoit, New York and was a competitive tennis player in high school. After meeting, Stoll and McIlroy became acquaintances, although they didn’t meet until 2014. Before meeting Stoll, the golfer was dating Caroline Wozniacki. McIlroy and Wozniacki split after getting engaged on New Year’s Eve 2013. Stoll and McIlroy began dating in late 2014 but kept their relationship low-key.
McIlroy spoke about his relationship to The Times of London in May 2015. He had been dating Stoll for about six months. Stoll and McIlroy were married on April 22, 2017 at Ashford Castle in County Mayo, Ireland. Stevie Wonder and Jamie Dornan were among the wedding’s celebrity guests.
Stoll keeps her personal life out of the press and keeps her Instagram private. McIlroy told the Irish Independent shortly after his engagement that Stoll wanted to avoid the spotlight. McIlroy and Stoll’s 2017 wedding made a lot of noise, but the details remained under wraps.
Stoll and McIlroy hid their pregnancy for months. McIlroy didn’t confirm her pregnancy until Stoll’s third trimester. Poppy Kennedy McIlroy was born on August 31, 2020, in Jupiter, Florida. McIlroy posted a black and white photo of Poppy’s little finger on Instagram.
