The wife of Jay Williams, former American basketball player, Jason David Williams, better known as Jay Williams, was born on September 10, 1981, in Plainfield, New Jersey.
Williams was born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Metuchen in 1999. Besides being a great basketball player, he also showed great interest in other activities, including chess.
In high school, his name was “Jay Dubs.” Williams also competed in junior varsity soccer her freshman year of high school and won volleyball state player of the year honors her senior year.


Williams won New Jersey’s Player of the Year award that year and was also named to the first team USA Today All-Americans, Parade All-Americans and McDonald’s All-Americans.
He also participated in the Slam Dunk Contest and the McDonald’s All-American Game, where he scored 20 points.
He started each of his four years at St. Joseph and set school records for runs scored (1,977) and steals (407) during his senior year of high school. He also averaged 19 points, 7.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game.
He also received the Morgan Wootten Award in 1999 for his basketball success and achievements in the classroom, where he earned a 3.6 grade point average.

Yao Ming was selected with the first overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets, and Williams was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the second overall pick.
Williams started most of the 2002–03 NBA season for the Bulls. Despite his inconsistent performance and competition with Jamal Crawford for playing time, he showed some potential by recording a triple-double in a victory against the New Jersey Nets.
Williams played his last NBA game in a 115–106 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers on April 15, 2003. He finished the game with 14 points, 7 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal.


The New Jersey Nets announced that they had signed Williams to a non-guaranteed contract on September 28, 2006. However, on October 22, the Nets released him.
Williams later joined the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League, but only appeared in three games for the team. Due to injury, he was released by the Toros on December 30, 2006.
Williams later stated that he had no plans to continue his basketball career.
As a professional basketball player, Williams played for the United States senior national basketball team. He was part of the American team that competed in the 2002 FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis, where he finished sixth.
