In early 2008, Guzmán appeared in the “Naturally Aged Cheddar Hunks” television commercial for Cabot Creamery. In 2010, he starred in the HBO series “How to Make It in America” and made a guest appearance in a comedy series of Snickers commercials that aired during that year’s Super Bowl. He also appeared in the “Yes We Can” music video.
During the 2016 United States presidential election, Guzmán supported Senator Bernie Sanders. In a season six episode of Jon Taffer’s Bar Rescue that aired in 2018,
Guzmán and New York Yankees great Bernie Williams helped the El Krajo Tavern in Loiza, which had been heavily damaged by Hurricane Maria, as well as the town’s community center.
When asked for his opinion on the situation in Puerto Rico during Telegramgate, Guzmán said that “Ricky had to go” and that corruption on the island was a serious problem that he hoped would be resolved.
