The Milwaukee Bucks selected Brogdon 36th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft on June 23, 2016.

On July 30, 2016, he was traded to the Bucks. On October 26, 2016, he played his first NBA game, the Bucks’ season-opening loss to the Charlotte Hornets (107-96), scoring eight points and five assists in 21 minutes.

He scored 14 points and four steals in a 117–113 victory against the New Orleans Pelicans on November 1, 2016.

On December 23, 2016, he defeated the Washington Wizards 123-96 by making all seven of his shots. He finished the game with 17 points and seven assists.

In a 116–96 victory against the Chicago Bulls on December 31, 2016, he recorded his first triple-double of his professional career with 15 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds.

On January 8, 2017, he scored a career-high 22 points against the Washington Wizards, resulting in a 107–101 loss. On January 23, 2017, he had his second steal game of the year in a 127–114 loss to the Houston Rockets.

Two days later, he was selected for the 2017 Rising Stars Challenge USA team. On March 29, 2017, he dominated the Boston Celtics 103–100 while providing nine assists.

On October 18, 2017, Brogdon contributed 19 points in the Bucks’ 108–100 victory over the Boston Celtics in the team’s regular season opener. On November 3, 2017, he recorded a game-high 10 assists and 21 points against the Detroit Pistons.

On November 28, 2018, Brogdon defeated the Chicago Bulls 116–113, scoring 24 points in 29 minutes on 6-of-6 three-point shooting.

Brogdon received a qualifying offer from the Bucks on June 29, 2019, making him eligible for restricted free agency.

In a sign-and-trade with the Milwaukee Bucks on July 6, 2019, Brogdon joined the Indiana Pacers in exchange for future draft picks.
