Wiz Khalifa, whose original name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, was born on September 8, 1987 to military parents Laurence Thomas and Peachie Wimbush in Minot, North Dakota, United States of America. Due to his parents’ work in the US military, the music star spent his youth moving from country to country. He stayed in Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, his parents divorced when he was only three years old, and he eventually settled with his mother in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his secondary education from Taylor Allderdice High School.
As a teenager, he developed a passion for music when he began writing and performing his lyrics.
In 2005, he signed with the Rostrum Records label and released his first mixtape Prince of the City: Welcome to Pistolvania and his first album Show and Prove.
