Iranian-born American physician Younan Nowzaradan was born on October 11, 1944 in Tehran, Iran.

Her zodiac sign is Libra. His ethnicity is Persian and he speaks Persian and English. Nowzaradan grew up in Iran and moved to the United States in 1970, at the age of 26. He completed the medical orientation program at St. Louis University in Missouri in 1971.

To complete his rotating surgical internship, he then went to St. John’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He completed a four-year surgical residency at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, and the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas, offered him a cardiology fellowship to complete his training.

He attended the Saint Louis University Medical Orientation Program in 1971. Nowzaradan was the first medical professional to propose, study and accept the benefits of laparoscopic surgery for weight loss.

Nowzaradan currently works at various regional hospitals and is affiliated with Houston Obesity Surgery in Houston, Texas. He has written numerous scientific articles on obesity and laparoscopy.

According to him, five articles are available on Web of Science. He has appeared on My 600-lb Life since 2012. He has also appeared in episodes of Body Shock, including “Half Ton Dad”, “Half Ton Teen”, and “Half Ton Mum”. “The Scale Does Not Lie”, “People Do” and “Last Chance to Live” (2017) are two other novels he wrote (2019).

In the early 2000s, Nowzaradan made several visits to amusement parks in Texas, including Six Flags Astroworld, to raise health awareness and encourage young people to adopt healthy eating habits.

Nowzaradan had four children with his ex-wife, Delores McRedmond. One of his children is Jonathan Nowzaradan, who is currently the producer and director of My 600-lb Life. He is currently 44 years old.
